Case Study “Os Pelezinhos”

Context

Os Pelezinhos is an amateur football club with a rich history and a community deeply committed to the sport. Founded on September 27, 1981, the club began as a neighborhood project and has grown over the years into a respected institution in the Setúbal region.

Throughout the years, the club has stood out for its dedication to involving families, closely monitoring the academic performance of its athletes, and supporting young people in at-risk situations.

With over 39 years of tradition, Os Pelezinhos has built a true family, bringing together generations of players and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Over 8,500 young people have passed through the club’s ranks, some staying for just a year, while others have remained for a decade or more.

The Problem

The club is facing several communication challenges due to a lack of resources and the use of outdated methods. Some of the identified issues include limited communication between parents via a WhatsApp group, low female participation, a shortage of new sign-ups and difficulty in recruiting new athletes, as well as the club’s lack of authority and credibility in its online presence, compounded by financial constraints.

The new Os Pelezinhos website aims to enhance the experience for its members and visitors by providing up-to-date information about the club, events, news, and results. Additionally, the website will play a key role in attracting new talent through an interest form and a dedicated page for female recruitment. With its modern and intuitive design, the new website will be an essential tool in promoting the club, drawing in more athletes, parents, and sports enthusiasts.
